Nagpur’s assets

The corpus of the Shree Nagpur and Kamthi Parsi Zarthosti Anjuman which stood at Rs 6,432,379.92 rose to Rs 6,574,379.92 in the year ended March 31, 2002, according to their audited statement of accounts received by Parsiana on April 4, 2003. The accounts were signed by the president of the Anjuman Edul F. Bhagwagar, honorary treasurer Shiraz K. Doongaji and honorary secretary Yezdi D. Bhagwagar. The value of their immovable property stands at Rs 4,938,875. This includes the one lakh liter underground water tank, valued at Rs 195,659, installed during the year in the Agiary compound. For the 84 families living in the Tata Baug complex who had been facing acute water shortage since a long time, "the water problem is now a thing of the past,” mentions the annual report appreciating the services of Rusi Jamaji and Navroze Daver in this venture.
The Dar-e-Meher building with staff quarters, Kamdin Charity Chawl, Dharamshala building, Anjuman Memorial Blocks, A. H. Wadia Charity Building, Dr Dadi Balsara Apartments, Diwan Bahadur M. M. Mulla Memorial Blocks, Parsi Anjuman Apartments and Dadi Terrace are the other structures included in their fixed assets. In respect of property, Rs 144,009.50 were incurred on maintenance and repairs during the year. Among their expenses, the single largest item was salaries on which the Anjuman expended Rs 152,532.
The Anjuman received Rs 1,42,000 as donations during the year. Donations were received for the water tank, the water cooler, for the agiary and kathi funds, for the installation of geysers in Dharamshala rooms, for medical relief and for other causes. A total of Rs 23,934 was disbursed as education aid and merit prizes, Rs 40,100 as medical aid, and Rs 72,500 as monthly aid to needy members.
The report also happily announced the induction of a new panthaky, Ervad Sohrab Bharucha, "after a year long search...with the help of our former panthaky Ervad Aspandiar Dadachanji... All members of the Anjumans are hereby requested to give full cooperation to him.”
