Nagpur Anjuman
The triennial elections of the Nagpur and Kamthi Parsi Zarthosti Anjuman held on March 18, 2007 have seen a change in the top echelons of the managing committee.
The president Edul F. Bhagwagar and the honorary secretary Yezdi D. Bhagwagar were elected unopposed. They however chose to resign because the candidates supported by them, Dr. Firoze Bharda for the post of vice president and Hosie Pithawala for the post of treasurer, lost the election. Navroze Daver and Shiraz Doongaji retained their seats as vice president and treasurer respectively.
Several attempts were made by committee members and members of the Anjuman to persuade Edul Bhagwagar and Yezdi Bhagwagar to withdraw their resignations. The two however stood firm in their decision, accepting moral responsibility for the loss of the candidates supported by them. Edul Bhagwagar had served as managing committee member of the Anjuman since 1975 and as vice president from 1994 to 2001 before he officiated as president from April 2001 to March 20, 2007 when he tendered his resignation after 32 years of service to the community. Yezdi Bhagwagar was for 23 years the assistant secretary and the next six years the honorary secretary of the Anjuman.

In the wake of these developments, a general body meeting was convened on March 31 where the name of Aspi Bapuna was proposed as president and that of Shiraz Gimi as honorary secretary. Both these gentlemen who bring with them a good lineage and background of community service were declared elected as president and honorary secretary of the Anjuman for the coming three years. Bapuna was treasurer of the Anjuman six years ago. Gimi was a member of the managing committee and is president of the Parsi Gymkhana.
Other members re-elected to the managing committee are Mehroo Watchmaker (lady member), Rusi Godha, Nerges Desai, Dinshaw Mistry, Jamshed Cassad, Homi Kavarana and Adil Bharucha. One new face on the managing committee is that of Shapur D. Karbhari.
