The location dates back to November 27, 1898 when the late Sir Dhunjibhoy Edulji Allbless formed the Garib Zarthostiona Rehethan Fund. His imposing portrait has pride of place on the main wall of the facility from where the benevolent soul looks down on these willing and hard-working young ladies.
Delna, 30, a postgraduate in rehabilitation and Kashmira, 27, a postgraduate in orthopedic therapy, who live with their widowed mother on Sleater Road, specialize in treating orthopedic and joint problems, rehabilitation after replacement surgery, strokes/Parkinson’s disease, geriatric rehabilitation, sciatica and back pain. Their treatments include gait and balance, diathermy, hot and moist packs, electrotherapy modalities, etc. They give concessions based on income level and free treatment to needy Parsi Zoroastrians. They may be contacted over the telephone: Delna 9221400839; Kashmira 96192758872.
The sisters are fond of animals and have nurtured many stray birds, cats and dogs, spending sleepless nights and hard-earned money on the helpless animals.
