Medical assistance
The Poona-based Tadiwala Dharam-shala Trust has tied up with the N. M. Wadia Institute of Cardiology to provide medicare to Parsis absolutely free, aggregating to a sum of Rs 1.6 crores over a period of 20 years from the date of execution of the deed of conveyance, to be used for treatment of all sorts of medical ailments.
The Wadia Institute has made provision of eight lakh rupees per year up to a maximum of Rs 25 lakhs per year, for medical facilities to patients recommended by the Tadiwala Dharamshala Trust. Treatment will be provided at the Wadia hospital or any other hospital referred by it for treatment such as accident, orthopedic, cancer, gynecological or any other, since Wadia hospital provides cardiac care alone.
Patients will be admitted only in the general ward. In case accommodation is not available there, patients will be admitted in another ward till such time as accommodation is available in the general ward, but no patient will be refused treatment for want of accommodation. All decisions regarding admission, discharge, treatment required, doctors or surgeons shall be taken by Wadia hospital exercising due care for the patients’ health.
The value of treatment will include the cost of hospitalization, procedures, investigations, medicines and professional fees of consultants, surgeons, surgery and charges, as per the schedule of charges at the relevant time, provided that no charges shall be levied, charged or claimed from patients. The trustees of Tadiwala Dharamshala Trust shall have a right to crosscheck the charges levied and the treatment provided.
The bills of those patients, already admitted in other hospitals in Poona, who are genuinely in need of medical aid will be forwarded by the trustees to the Wadia hospital. After verification, the hospital will decide whether to pay the bills up to a maximum of one lakh rupees per patient and will adjust the same against the amount of Rs 1.6 crores, but up to a maximum of Rs 25 lakhs per year.
