Errata
In "Of palaces and kings” (Books, Parsiana, March 7, 2014), the caption for the Darius Behistum relief mentions "… Darius facing the lion kings.” This should have read "facing the line of kings” and refers to the vanquished rebels who had falsely claimed to be ‘kings,’ notes London based Zoroastrian scholar Farrokh Vajifdar.
In "Rapturous rhapsody – I,” (Parsiana, March 21, 2014) it is stated that "the mysterious, reclusive UK-based Kaikhosru Sorabji... (was) born of a Parsi father and English mother.” Sorabji’s mother was Spanish-Sicilian. Vajifdar reveals that when he had briefly met Sorabji at the latter’s home near Corfe Castle, Dorset, several decades ago, he was welcomed with "Ah, Mr Vaheefdar.” Sorabji was "firmly convinced that I was Spanish!”
Parsiana regrets the errors.
