Cancer detection camp
The World Zoroastrian Organisation (WZO), India will be organizing a cancer detection camp for women at Cusrow Baug in June, conducted by the Indian Cancer Society whose doctors and technicians will also use their sophisticated mammography van. After noting the response to this initiative the WZO, India will hold more such camps in other baugs/colonies, mentions a write-up received by Parsiana from the organization.

WZO, India has held several camps in baugs/colonies providing medical check-up covering general health, hypertension, diabetes, bone density, dental and eye check-ups, acupressure, physiotherapy, etc, and have also had pathology camps to test blood for complete blood count, lipid profile, blood sugar, thyroid, etc. All these camps are conducted at a very nominal charge, and charges are waived for deserving persons who are unable to pay even the small amount, the write-up says.
Among the other projects of WZO, India for the welfare of the community are distribution of household items to inmates of widows’ chawls and old age homes, reminds the circular. They have also conducted several trips both in India and abroad for members.
All such activities are personally supervised by WZO, India president Rusy Bhumgara supported by committee members Mehernosh Zaveri, Soonoo Andhyarujina, Minoo Khan, Homiyar Doctor, Ruby Bharucha and others. WZO, India writes that it will be happy to organize camps in any baug/colony where over 50 names are registered for medical or pathological testing.
