“BPP attendance record”

Thank you for publishing my letter, "BPP attendance record” (Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, April 7, 2013). With reference to the editors’ comment that "the matter is under mediation,” may I humbly submit that mediation is costing a bomb. The litigants not only have to pay the lawyers’ fees but also those of the presiding authority. Naturally, the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) trustees will not cough up a paisa from their own pockets and the trust fund will be poorer by a few additional crores.
In all likelihood the mediation will produce zero result and the matter may have to be heard by the Supreme Court which will result in a few more crores of trust money being frittered away. The present worthies may or may not be around to hear the judgment, but the money will have gone by then, for advocates don’t accept payments on equated monthly installment basis.
