WZO Bombay’s activities

The World Zoroastrian Organisation (India) Bombay committee members Soonoo N. Andhyarujina, Silloo P. Mahava and Ruby Bharucha have sent an update on their activities during the past year to Parsiana, especially in the matter of providing medical and educational assistance to poor Zoroastrians, as well as holding a gahanbar, as per their write-up.
Andhyarujina, Bharucha, Nozer Commisariat and Minoo Khan visited the J. J. Hospital’s Parsi Ward and as per the wishes of the inmates provided them with tandoori chicken and dar-ni-pori. They also visited the Petit Widows’ Chawl at Thakurdwar and Fort and distributed blankets, bed sheets, towels, napkins and sweets. Next, on March 16, 2008, Mahava, Andhyarujina, Meher­nosh Zaveri, Zubin Bharucha, Bahadur Mistry and secretary Rusi Bhamgara visited the F. S. Parukh Dharamshala at Hughes Road. Inmates of the free ward were provided eau de cologne, Vicks, bath and washing soap, kustis, talcum powder, hair oil bottles and tubes of painkiller ointments, as per their requirements.

Homiar Doctor accompanied some committee members to the Bai Avabai Framji Petit Girls High School at Pali Hill, Bandra on March 18, 2008, at the request of Yasmin N. Charna, superintendent (boarding) and distributed bed sheets and sweets to Zoroastrian students. A free dental check up was provided for children of the Panday Girls School at Tardeo by Dr Manoj Bhatia.
