Doctor with distinction

The Jamshedji Lashkari Gold Medal and five cash prizes were presented to Dr Shahenaz Farokh Kapadia by Gujarat’s chief minister Narendra Modi at the convocation of the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University on February 26, 2011. The student of Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research had stood first in the University at the MBBS examination in February 2010, as per a write-up sent by her father.

On August 15, 2010, Kapadia had been awarded a trophy by the mayor of Surat Ranjeet Gilitwala for her outstanding performance in the final MBBS examination. Kapadia won another gold medal from The Satya Sai Committee for securing the highest marks among female candidates, notes the write-up.

A consistent topper in academics both in school and college, Kapadia is now preparing for her postgraduate examinations, her father mentions.
