Academic accolades

Surat girl Hufriya Zawareh Wadia stood first in the final year Bachelor of Physiotherapy examinations conducted by Bombay’s Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey (SNDT) Women’s University, in March 2009. On completion of her internship she received her degree and an award from the Vice President of India Hamid Ansari at the convocation held in Bombay on March 30, 2010, as per a write-up sent to Parsiana by her mother, Dr Parizad Wadia. The M. A. Master Memorial Prize was presented to Wadia by the SNDT University for standing first in the examination, securing 83.22 percent, and graduating in the first class with distinction.

Wadia is now studying Health Administration in Australia for her Master’s degree. An outstanding student at school, she remained a ranker during all her four years of graduate studies. Having attended national and state level conferences, she has admirably conducted several inaugural sessions, informs her proud mother who is a consulting physician and cardiologist as well as Associate Professor of Medicine at the Government Medical College and New Civil Hospital in Surat. Her father is a structural engineer having his own engineering consultancy firm.
