Top scoring student vet
On completing her Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH) from the Bombay Veterinary College, Bombay, affiliated to the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur, Zenobia Chinoy garnered eight medals, five gold and three silver, while standing first in the University in 2009, states a write-up sent to Parsiana by her Poona-based parents Nilloofer and Rohinton. A student of the Bombay Veterinary College, Chinoy earned a cumulative grade point average of 9.12 in the 10 point scale, equivalent to 91.2 percent for her bachelor’s degree. At the university convocation in Nagpur on January 22, 2010, she received her medals at the hands of the former president of India, Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam who was chief guest.

Zenobia Chinoy: consistently stood first
Having studied at J. B. Petit High School and Jai Hind College in Bombay, Chinoy is at present pursuing her postgraduation at the Bombay Veterinary College, specializing in surgery. Excelling in academics, she scored 95 percent in her ICSE, standing first in her school in 2002. In the HSC she stood second in the scholars’ list with 90.17 percent as well as scoring 188/198 marks at the MH-CET (Maharashtra-Common Entrance Test). Chinoy was consistently placed first through all five years of her BVSc and AH degree course, her parents write. In recognition of her merit the Bombay Parsi Punchayet awarded her the Dadabhai Naoroji Scholarship for three years in a row. She has also received the Piroja Forbes Award, as well as awards from the Zoroastrian Student Teacher Association (ZOSTA), Federation of Zoroastrian Associations for Welfare and Culture (FOZAWAC), the Bombay Parsee Association, among others.
Chinoy enjoys other activities like sports (badminton and karate), arts and crafts, and voluntary work as well. The dedicated animal lover and environmentalist is committed to treating and alleviating the suffering of all the helpless creatures she comes across, her parents write. Despite the enormous academic pressure, she has been actively involved with various animal welfare organizations like Plant and Animal Lovers Society (PALS) and People For Animals (PFA), helping out with dog sterilization drives and vaccination camps. She is passionate about her work and ever ready to lend a helping hand, the write-up concludes.
