People’s scholarships
On Teachers’ Day, September 5, 2010, The People’s Co-operative Credit Society Limited, established in 2001, organized a function at the Bai Ratanbai J. Chenoy Parsi High School in Secunderabad where Rs 36,650 earmarked from its surplus funds was disbursed toward the fees of six poor meritorious students for the period September 2010-April 2011. An additional Rs 5,000 was presented to the principal for teachers’ welfare. The Society will also be donating Rs 20,000 each to the Sivananda Rehabilitation Home (for medicines) and the Devnar Foundation for the Blind (for a public address system) as well as Rs 25,000 to the M. C. K. S. Foundation towards a month’s groceries for 278 families residing in the leprosy colony, states K. B. Mehta, manager, in a press release sent to Parsiana.
