“Minutes of meetings”
In response to Farrokh Mehta’s letter "Minutes of meetings” (Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, September 7, 2010), until December 31, 2007 it was a meticulous practice at the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) to issue the minutes to every trustee once the draft minutes were ratified by the chairman. Minutes were circulated every Friday for the next week’s meeting, to be held on a Tuesday.
It is a very sad commentary that the war between the trustees has reached such an unacceptable level that a member of the board is being denied the minutes. In my 10 years’ experience with the BPP I had found the board ideologically divided, but never to the extent it is today. It is a great shame that the apex body of the community should set the worst possible example by eschewing camaraderie, cohesiveness and unity of command.
The trustees must resolve this issue and stop enriching the lawyers at the cost of our microscopic community.
