Canadian honor for actor

When he was a guest at a film festival in Canada, actor Boman Irani was pleasantly surprised to receive an honor from the government of that country on July 24, 2010 for his contribution to the Bollywood arts and entertainment industry. "I didn’t know it was going to be such a big affair. The governor came forward and read a citation and then honored me. I was quite touched,” the actor is reported as saying in Daily News and Analysis (DNA) of July 31.

Boman Irani: to direct films soon

Five of Irani’s films were screened at the festival — 3 Idiots, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Well Done Abba, Khosla Ka Ghosla and Let’s Talk. "Many people ask me how I choose a particular role. And I tell then that I don’t choose roles, I choose the film. A good role in a bad film can make no impact. Even an average role in a great film though can become an excellent one. The film has to resonate with the audience,” Irani elaborated. "I believe that movies are a director’s medium,” he added. When asked whether he’s going to turn director soon, he affirmed, "Yes, I would love to make a film.”
