Boman Irani: "I do what I like”
As for his public persona of playing the role of comic characters the 47-year-old Dadar Parsi colony resident countered, "I have done a variety of roles… I’m known more for my comic characters because I have been more popular as a funny guy. Eventually I do what I like.”
"From Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eka-lavya to Farhan Akhtar’s Don – you will see Irani in most of the talked about films,” states The Indian Express correspondent Suruchi Mazumdar.
Irani has starred in the controversial movie, Being Cyrus and received rave reviews for his role in Munnabhai MBBS. In the sequel Lage Raho Munnabhai he played the role of Lucky Singh who "is fun, he is not a villain or totally black... (he) is a man obsessed with family and business and goes to any length to protect them,” Irani said in an interview with Rachana Dubey of DNA daily (September 6, 2006).
