“Clicking a living”
With reference to "Clicking a living” (Events and Personalities, Parsiana, August 7, 2010) on film actor Boman Irani, I may mention my own happy experience with him. Years ago, when we ran the WZO (World Zoroastrian Organisation) Youth Wing and were establishing our varied projects in Udvada, we required high quality photographs of the village and its Parsi inhabitants for the museum we were setting up at Kayoji Mirza Hall there.
We reached out to Irani and without hesitation he volunteered to help us out. Not only he, but his wife Zenobia too set off for Udvada for a couple of days with all their photographic equipment and returned with some of the most remarkable photographs. Thankfully this exercise was conducted before the village went to seed over these past years.
It was really gracious of Irani and his wife to have undertaken this assignment totally without charge as an act of charity towards the now defunct Youth Wing.
