Annual eye camp
The Police Hospital in Nagpada held its annual eye camp for difficult cataract surgeries on March 20, 2010, during which 22 successful operations were carried out, an e-mail sent to Parsiana by the Mehta International Eye Hospital (MIEH) reveals. The camp was conducted by the team led by MIEH surgical chief and medical director Dr Keiki R. Mehta.

Operation Aarogya, which was inaugurated on January 7, 2010, is a mission by the Bombay Police through which the force of 45,000 and their families are provided access to services not only in ophthalmology but also cardiology, dentistry and to deal with stress related problems (see "Commendable care,” Events and Personalities, Parsiana, February 21, 2010). Nagpada’s Police Hospital is one of India’s oldest police hospitals, having been constructed in 1842, the e-mail reveals.
The services at the eye camp were totally free of charge and patients were provided with the most up-to-date diagnostic and surgical facilities in the handling of difficult and complicated cataracts.
