Home away from home

What an easy way to avail of this two star facility for Zoroastrians! All we had to do was to fill in a one-page application form and send it to the Cama Convalescent Home at 55 Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Road, Bandra (West), Bombay 400050 (tel: 26423727) and we were given a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a change of climate for three weeks at a token cost of Rs 150 for lodging and boarding per person per day.
We had heard that the Cama Home is a "home away from home.” After having stayed there and actually experienced the hospitality and warmth with which the inmates are treated, we are convinced of the fact and departed with happy memories.
The scenic beauty of the place is exquisite. God bless the late Shirinbai Cama for her farsightedness in providing an institution in such a beautiful location where members of the community could come, rest and regain their health.
We appreciate and thank all the trustees who devote their valuable time to efficiently manage the trust. We also thank the staff members for their help and support. The young and energetic manager Dilbur Pestonji looked after us as if she was our own daughter. The homely atmosphere and efficient day-to-day functioning of the Home is on account of the friendly attitude and excellent coordination between members of the staff and their interaction with inmates. We also appreciate the services rendered by Dara Engineer.
We shall definitely recommend a stay at the Home to all our Zoroastrian friends in need. We urge fellow Zoroastrians in need of a change of climate and medical treatment to avail of this facility, meant for persons from all over India.
