Montessori training
Montessori is a way of life. It is a system of education that aims for overall, holistic development of the child. The course to impart Montessori training to adults is run by the undersigned who has been involved with children since the last 40 years and has been running this course since the last 13 years.
The Montessori method was founded in 1907 by Dr Maria Montessori. She based her educational theories on scientific observation of children’s learning processes. She discovered that children learn spontaneously, on the basis of which she designed a special classroom environment in which children could freely choose from a multitude of developmentally appropriate lessons and materials. Now, nearly a century later, Montessori schools exist all over the world, serving children from birth through adolescence.
A Montessori school is equipped with different types of Montessori materials which are classified into practical life exercises, sensorial material, language material and arithmetic material. Children in a Montessori environment are encouraged to explore, investigate and fulfill their natural curiosity about the world around them.
Each child has certain vital needs as they grow up. In an academic environment the needs of the children are generalized, hence the vital needs may tend to be overlooked. The Montessori method of education strives to fulfill the individual needs. Montessori education attends to the total development of the child — social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual. The aim of Montessori education is to foster competent, responsible, adaptive citizens who are lifelong learners and problem solvers.
