Waldorf seminar

A Waldorf seminar will be conducted in two one-week sessions. The first week, from 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 until 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2006, will be for all those who are working in Waldorf/Rudolf Steiner schools only. The second week, from 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 7 until 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2006, will be open to all, including participants from the first week.

The venue will be Bai Dhunmai Cawasji School (D. C. Public School) in Khandala, a hill station in Maha-­rashtra, which can be reached from Bombay or Poona by road or rail (Railway Station Khandala or Lonavla on Central Railway). Boarding and lodging at the School will cost Rs 175 per person per day, plus Rs 1,000 tuition fees for one week, per person. Please make the total payment in cash upon arrival but register your name with the undersigned at 5, Proctor Road, Grant Road, Bombay 400007 with a non-refundable fee of Rs 100.

Participants are expected to have a good knowledge of English. We are confident that this seminar will be very successful with your kind cooperation. Together we will learn and have a happy time.

Some of the subjects to be covered by the seminars are: Anthroposophy of Dr Rudolf Steiner; child development in the light of spiritual science; the four temperaments; nature and ecology; the Waldorf kindergarten; the Waldorf school curriculum.

Artistic and creative activities will include eurythmy – an art of movement; water-color painting, drawing, form-drawing, singing and flute-playing, poetry and drama, classroom and outdoor games.

Those teaching at the Khandala seminar are Waldorf teachers from India and abroad with many years’ teaching experience in established Waldorf schools and adult education institutes.

Further, a eurythmy course of practical application will be conducted by Dilnavaz and Aban Bana from Monday, April 3 to Friday, April 7, 2006, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Geeta Mandir Hall, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chowpatty, Bombay 400007. Fees will be Rs 500 per participant. The course is open to all who are interested and over 18 years of age.
