Presenting her case

In her third year of law studies in 2002, Delnaz B. Shethna of Ahmedabad secured the second rank in the Gujarat University, notes a press release. In the first year of LLB in 2000, Shethna had stood fifth in the University. The year prior she was recognized as a National Scholar for securing a high rank in the Gujarat University when in the final year of BCom studies.
Daughter of Justice B. J. Shethna, Delnaz has been excelling in moot court competitions (where law students are given fictitious cases to argue) at the college, district, inter-district and national levels since 1999. She had been given a special award for standing third at the national competition in Hy­de­ra­bad in 2000. In 2002 she was given a trophy for standing first at the district level competition.
In public speaking and elocution too Shethna has been winning honors over the years. In 2001 she represented the Gujarat University at the Kamal Nayan Bajaj Inter-University Seminar and the year before she stood first at the inter zonal level Gujarat University elocution competition.



Shethna: high ranker in law


At the All Gujarat Inter College Skit Competition organized by the Indian National Theatre in 2001, Shethna was adjudged the second best female actress and at the Gujarat Veena Veli Drama Competition she won the second prize for the best individual performance, according to her life profile.
A good Bharat Natyam dancer, during her school days she won prizes at classical dance competitions on five occasions and at inter school classical dance competitions on two occasions. She had performed her arangetram in Bharat Natyam in 1994 (earning a certificate after more than seven years of training in the classical dance form).
In essay writing and creative writing too Shethna had won prizes when she was at the H. L. Commerce College and was for three years the editor of the College magazine, H. L. Times, states the profile.
