Appeal for funds
A 100 years ago in the quaint agrarian village of Bordi, not far from Sanjan, the Zaiwalla family set up the Zai Bordi Agiary. Managed by the Zai Bordi Parsee Anjuman Fund, this adarian is the only one in a radius of 160 kms that serves the largely agricultural communities of Gholvad, Bordi and Umbergaon.

The Agiary celebrates its centenary in May 2016. This milestone must not be allowed to pass unheralded. But before we think of celebrations, much needs to be done. The building is old and in need of urgent repairs. The current corpus is pitifully inadequate for even the daily upkeep of the fire temple. In earlier times the local community would have rallied, but with changing times and the gradual decline in family fortunes, coupled with inflation, this is no longer possible.
We, the trustees, therefore appeal to our Parsi brethren for help. The trust is in dire need of a massive infusion of funds to the tune of five crore rupees or more. Our bank details are: Zai Bordi Parsee Anjuman Fund, Account No: 04280100004953. RTGS/NEFT IFSC Code: BARBOBORDIX. Cheques made out to the Zai Bordi Parsee Anjuman Fund may be sent to: Bordi Fire Temple, Opp Gulkush Resort, At Post Bordi, Tal Dahanu, Dist Palghar, 401701 (Maharashtra).
