Appeal for funds
The Dorabji Edulji Mithaiwala Agiary (Adarian) situated at Jehangir Daji Street, Grant Road, Bombay will be completing 100 years of existence on May 19, 2011.
Built at a cost of Rs 35,000 provided by Ervad Dorabji Edulji Jamsina (also known as the Mithaiwalla of Sumari) in memory of his ancestors on land donated by Dinshawji Cooverji Pundole, the Agiary was consecrated and opened for use of all Parsi Zoroastrians on May 19, 1911 (roz Adar, mah Adar, 1280 YZ) by Dastur Kaikhushroo Jamaspji Jamaspasana.
Over the years, the Agiary complex has been subjected to the vagaries of nature and is now in urgent need of structural repairs and renovations, the cost of which is estimated at about Rs 40 lakhs. Patrons are requested to contribute generously and donations by way of cash/crossed cheques favoring the "D. E. Mithaiwala Agiary Trust Fund” are welcome.
Donations may please be sent to the Trustees, D. E. Mithaiwala Agiary, C/o Jeena and Company, Elphinstone Building, 1st floor, 10, Veer Nariman Road, Fort, Bombay 400001 or directly to the Agiary.
