Appeal for funds

The Dorabji Edulji Mithaiwala Agiary (Adarian) at Jehangir Daji Street, Grant Road, Bombay will complete 100 years on May 19, 2011. Built at a cost of Rs 35,000 provided by Ervad Dorabji Edulji Jamsina, also known as Mithaiwalla of Sumari, in memory of his ancestors on land donated by Seth Dinshawji Cooverji Pundole, the Agiary was consecrated and opened for use by Parsi Zoroastrians on May 19, 1911 (roz Adar, mah Adar 1280 YZ) by Dastur Kaikhushroo Jamaspji Jamaspasana.

Over the years, the Agiary complex has suffered the vagaries of nature and is now in urgent need of structural repairs/renovations estimated to cost about Rs 40 lakhs.
