Gone are those days
Gone are those days of delicious kervai, malido and bhakhra/ Today’s diet conscious people mostly eat toast or khakhra.
Nutritious and bumper indeed used to be, our aleti-paleti nasta./ These days the trend has shifted to noodles, macaroni and pasta.
Lunches were wholesome: dhansak, kebab, kachuber or curry rice./ Now it is light: spaghetti, mashed potatoes and coke with lots of ice.
Grand dinners with drinks; live band and ballroom dance was the call of the gone by day./ Alas! The modern age keeps all these beautiful things at bay.
Music today is cacophony, loud and blaring too; gymnastics filled is a dance./ Lilting music that would enrich the soul and artistic dance have lost the chance.
Gone are those wonderful good old days; miss them very much I do./ Ponder I, what’s so good about pizzas and hamburgers? I wouldn’t exchange my dhansak in lieu. ARMIN DUTIA MOTASHAW
