Honoring Paeterasp
The birth anniversary of Paeterasp Darabshah Patel, founder of the Khareghat Colony Youth Association (KCYA), was commemorated at a function organized by the KCYA at the M. P. Khareghat Hall on September 19, 2013. A humbandagi by behdin pasbaans Marzban Wadia and Jamshed Mistry along with KCYA Dharmagnan Class students Jamshid and Peshotan Kohla led by Ervad Asphandiar Dadachanji set the mood for a religiously enlightening evening, notes an email received from the Association. The divo for the founder was lit by Paeterasp’s brother Rusi Patel.
Late Paeterasp Patel: "loved and cherished by all"
In his welcome speech KCYA committee member Cyrus Patel took the Colony’s residents down memory lane about "Paeterasp Uncle” who had lived his life with dignity, strong values, honesty, commitment and generosity. He was "our friend, philosopher, guide and a fatherly figure, loved and cherished by all.” Dadachanji lauded KCYA on its multifarious activities. KCYA member and compere for the evening Homi Ranji introduced Ervad Parvez Bajan, panthaky of the Mevawala Agiary and motivational speaker Yazdi Munsif, who were to address the gathering. Bajan rendered a narrative from the Shahnameh. For 50 minutes, he held the audience spellbound with this tale of deeds in days of yore.
Munsif’s Power Point presentation was on mental gymnastics for youth and the aged. He demonstrated how stress can be overcome with simple meditation exercises which could bring about a dramatic change in the thinking of youngsters, creating clarity of mind, concentration, focus and a boost in energy. The aged too could overcome loneliness and depression as well as boost their immunity levels with these simple exercises, the email notes.
The KCYA felicitated Bombay Parsi Punchayet trustee Khojeste Mistree, Dadachanji, Bajan, Munsif and Rusi Patel.
