At the martyrs’ memorial

The Bombay Parsee Association (BPA) is the sole civilian organization in the entire country to pay homage to fallen members of the armed forces belonging to the community, revealed its president Vispi Dastur at the War Memorial inside Khareghat Colony. Present on the morning of September 5, 2013 were family members of fallen soldiers, along with photographs of their brave kin displayed at the Memorial, mentions a write-up received from the BPA.

Wreaths were placed on the Memorial by Dastur, Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) trustees Arnavaz Mistry, Armaity Tirandaz and Khojeste Mistree, as also Cmdes (Retd) Aspi Marker and Medioma Bhada, Sqn Ldr (Retd) Parvez Jamasji, Adi Mehta, Godrej Dotivala and Aloo Shroff. Thereafter, the trumpeter of the Indian Navy sounded the Last Post followed by Réveille. A humbandagi was led by Ervad Cyrus Dastoor. Several of those present spoke on the occasion, including the BPP trustees, retired officers of the armed forces, Dotivala and community historian Marzban Giara.
