Posters for peace

"Our world, our future” was the theme of a poster contest for children aged between 11 and 13 years organized by Dr Firdos T. Shroff, president of the Lions Club of Bombay Cuffe Parade on September 7, 2013 at the Sri Sathya Sai Madhyamik Vidyamandir in Andheri (East), managed by the Sri Sathya Sai Trust-Maharashtra. Twenty-four students participated in the contest, 12 from the Andheri School and another dozen from the Sri Sai Vidya Mandir at Malad (West), also managed by the same Trust under the chairmanship of Hiranya Kamdar. This competition was part of the Lions International Peace Poster Contest 2013-2014 to create awareness about peace in our youth, mentions Shroff in an email sent to Parsiana.

The children projected their thoughts and feelings on the given topic on their respective posters which were judged by chartered accountant Noshir Captain along with the school’s principal and teachers. Three of the best posters produced by students of each of the two schools won prizes, while Lions Club International awarded participation certificates to all the students, the email mentions.
