The 35-year-old Lions Club of Byculla was declared the Best Club of the Region by district governor Hemant Shah for breaking all records during the October service week. Under the leadership of president Rohinton Bhathena, 28 projects were carried out at various NGOs (nongovernmental organizations) and institutions where assistance was required, mentions an email received from the Club.
Capt Percy Master of the Master Group, chairman of the project committee, was not merely instrumental in collecting over Rs 8.5 lakhs, he personally visited all the recipient institutions between October 1 and 8, 2012, notes the write-up.
