A poor record
Disillusionment has caught up with the orthodox. Dr Viraf Kapadia, who regularly contributes comments and opinions on the community, now belongs to the ranks of the disenchanted. Vociferous criticism is being heard from many quarters as a result of the trustees’ self-centered practices.
A recent letter from Kapadia in Parsi Times mentions that the dogs at the Bhikha Behram Well are more loyal to the community than the trustees. Undoubtedly! I would go much further and call the latter anti-Zoroastrian, because they squander money on unnecessary pursuits while perpetuating the poverty of the underprivileged suffering whose hopes are belied by the indifference of those wrongly put in positions of power for seven long years.
It is now four-and-a-half years since the new board has been in office. What have they done? Incurred the wrath of a large number of right-thinking Zoroastrians. Why are they not utilizing funds for needy Parsis who are dying in poverty?
