Twin cities Navroze event

Cricketers of the twin cities were felicitated on winning the 26th Jiji Irani Cricket Challenge Cup played in Calcutta in December 2012 by the Zoroastrians of Hyderabad and Secunderabad at the Jamshedi Navroz celebration on March 21, 2013 at a function organized by the Zoroastrian Club, writes Ervad Mehernosh H. Bharucha, the Club’s president, in a write-up sent to Parsiana. Maj Gen Cyrus Pithawalla and his family graced the occasion. Speaking about its activities, Bharucha informed those present that this summer the Club proposes to send its first team of adventurers to the National Himalayan Trekking program organized by the Delhi based Youth Hostels Association of India.
Cricket captain Jamsheed Hormusjee informed the gathering about his team’s performance, and the Club presented each and every member as well as the scorer and their mentor Minoo Siganporia mementoes, notes the write-up. Prizes for the snooker championship were also given away.
The evening ended with a dinner catered by Keki Irani.
