Sporting in Secunderabad
The Jamshedi Navroz celebrations of the 75-year-old Zoroastrian Club of Secunderabad saw a good turnout of well attired ladies participating in a sari kor competition. At the request of the judges who found it difficult to select only three winners, the number of prizes had to be increased to five, notes a press release from the Club. The winners Hilla Moos, Yasmin Madon, Jeroo Parakh, Coomi Eduljee and Tooshna Vicajee received their prizes from Air Marshal Maneck Madon.
The function commenced with a hambandagi led by Club president Kerfegar B. Antia after which the gathering settled for a few rounds of Housie. The jackpot of Rs 3,000, sponsored by Mazda Supplying Company, which was to be cracked in 53 numbers attracted a large participation but had to be carried over.

A special felicitation was accorded to Mazdyar Vatcha who was presented a memento and a bouquet on behalf of the Club for winning three Go-kart Grand Prix races in England in March 2005. The winner of the Handicap Snooker tournament held earlier by the Club, ex Ranji trophy cricketer Noshir Mehta and runner-up Zarir Vasaigara received their prizes from Club secretary Shapoor Bhathena.
The evening ended with a dinner subsidized by the Club. The illumination of the Club by caterer Abad Wadia of Mazda Supplying Company and a surprise dish included by him in the menu at his cost was appreciated by all, adds the release.
