Congress theme
The theme of the Tenth World Zoroastrian Congress (WZC) is "Zoroastrianism in the 21st Century: Nurturing Growth and Affirming our Identity.” The announcement for the 2013 December international gathering was made by the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) chairman Dinshaw Mehta in his chairman’s Message in the August 2012 The BPP Review. The BPP is hosting the three or four-day meet.
"We sincerely hope that the discussions and debates will result in a blueprint for the harmonious growth of the community not only in numbers but also in the contribution it makes to society at large,” added Mehta.
Businessman and philanthropist Dr Cyrus Poonawalla of the Serum Institute of India is the main sponsor of the event. A competition to design the 10th WZC logo has attracted over 500 entries with the youngest entrant being 13 and the oldest 83, mentions Mehta. "We are in the process of forming various committees with prominent members of the community to ensure the smooth functioning of the Congress,” he noted.
