Honor for Zorabi
For being in the forefront in saving lives during the terror attack on Bombay on the night of November 26, 2008, eye surgeon Dr Kuresh Zorabi, who was both witness and survivor, received the Karmaveer Chakra, 2010 at a function on November 27, 2010 in New Delhi. The award, presented by iCONGO, a confederation of NGOs (nongovernmental organizations) as part of its annual Karmaveer Puraskaar global awards for social justice and citizen action, was given to Zorabi at the Right Every Wrong Citizen Activism Conclave. He was one of the 59 "unsung heroes” who were so honored in 20 categories this year.

Dr Kuresh Zorabi: "unsung hero”
Zorabi’s contribution to the Zoroastrian community has also been recognized in the citation: "He has been instrumental in getting a heritage status for the fire temples in Mumbai which safeguarded them against the builder lobby.” The doctor, who is affiliated to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had contested the Bombay Municipal Corporation elections from the Colaba constituency. At that time he had raised serious objections to the seal on electronic voting machines being tampered with, stalling the counting process for four hours, the citation mentions.
A certificate from the 5th Right Every Wrong Conclave and Karmaveer Puraskaar 2010-11, signed by iCONGO founder Jeroninio Almeida, acknowledges that Zorabi was a guest of honor, a mentor and speaker on global oneness, peace and secularism on the occasion.
