Best video award for Mehta

At the recently concluded Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (APACRS) convention held in Seoul, Korea, from October 13 to 16, 2011, Dr Keiki R. Mehta received the prestigious Grill Award during the APACRS-KSCRS (Korean Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery) Seoul 2011 Film Festival for best video presentation of the latest techniques on managing difficult, complicated and challenging cataract surgeries.

The award was presented by Prof Hungwon Tchah, president emeritus of the KSCRS, from the University of Ulsan, Seoul, Korea, who lauded Mehta’s achievement, an e-mail received from Luciano Gomes reveals.
The internationally acclaimed eye surgeon has won numerous awards all around the world, including the Padma Shri in India. He is well known for his pioneering surgical techniques and research in the fields of cataract, glaucoma, lasik, squint and vitero-retinal surgery, notes the e-mail.
The Mehta International Eye Institute received the Best Eye Hospital in Mumbai Award at the Brands Academy and Big Brand Research Award ceremony held in August 2011 (see "Best eye hospital,” Events and Personalities, Parsiana, September 21, 2011).
