In "The purging of the Federation” (Editorial Viewpoint, Parsiana, January 21, 2009) you have stated: "For the South Zone vice presidency there is a move to replace Secunderabad anjuman’s Jehangir Bisney as vice president with the orthodox Kerfegar Antia of Hyderabad.”
I strongly object to your referring to me as orthodox, which implies that Bisney is a reformist and by so mentioning you are trying to create a wedge between me and my good friend. It would be appreciated if your magazine is impartial and does not show its leanings towards reformists as is oft mentioned by some of your readers. I request you to please retract this statement at the earliest.
Moreover, please note that the Secunderabad and Hyderabad Anjuman is common and there is no need for you to distinguish between the two.
KERFEGAR B. ANTIA
Hyderabad
The editors reply
If Mr Antia takes umbrage at being called an orthodox we apologize. He had objected to the presence of non-Parsis (even non-Parsi spouses) at a gahanbar sometime back and so we believed that the label orthodox was one he was comfortable with. Bisney had disapproved of the exclusion in a letter to Parsiana.
We are aware that the Secunderabad Hyderabad Anjuman is one and if our editorial created any other impression we apologize for that also.
