I congratulate you on publishing the well-researched article "The ‘Yea’ and ‘Nay’ of Modi” by Mitra Sharafi (Parsi­ana, September 21, 2008). Articles of this genre would greatly enhance the value of your magazine, as what comes through is the human-interest aspect. We can see that this Parsi icon of the last century (Sir Jivanji Modi) was torn between being a faithful adherent of Zarathush­tra’s religion with its inherent universalism and liberalism and loyalty to the Parsi clan/community into which he was born.

Strange, that a century later, we are still faced with the same problem.
