“How rational are we?”

On reading the article on Prof Mahzarin Banaji ("How rational are we?” Zoroastrians Abroad, Parsiana, August 2004) it warmed the cockles of my heart to learn of her exemplary academic achievements and her clear and straightforward solution of all the ills that have befallen our community. Yes, the problem is one of attitude. She has rightly hit the nail on its head.

If only there were 500 venerated persons like her, the Parsi community will reign supreme once again. The tussle between orthodoxy and so-called reformism will vanish, once the old fogey stance creating hindrance is no more.

Also, I do know and appreciate the countless other co-religionists who have achieved fame and recognition in their various fields and in turn salute them.
