Children’s books
I am delighted with the drafting of the advertisement of the DPA (Delhi Parsi Anjuman) Children’s books (Parsiana, August 2004), but dismayed by the insertion at the end, without my consent, of the following: Authored by Piloo Nanavutty (Ms P. N. Jungalwalla). This is not correct. The Readers are scripted by Piloo Nanavutty and the Work Books by Pareen Lalkaka. The illustrations are by Mehroo J. Wadia and Tanaz Irani.
I have already apologized to my three colleagues for the omission of their names.
Further, readers may be interested in the recent spate of books on the early history of the Parsis and their settlement in India:
Parsees of Kurrachee by Dorab J. Patel, serialized by the editor of Ushao, Journal of Informal Religious Teaching, Karachi.
The Parsees of Kolkata, doctoral thesis of Dalia Roy, eminent woman jurist of the Kolkata High Court. See review by C. R. Irani, Editor-in-Chief, Sunday Statesman, September 19, 2004.
