Distinction despite...

"To fight for your life and manage an astounding 96.8 percent” in the Std X public examination "is a feat that is hard to ignore,” comments a write-up on Jehangir Cama in the Hindustan Times datelined May 28, 2004. "This Modern School, Vasant Vihar (Delhi) student not only topped his school...but did so after battling a bout of dengue,” mentions a write-up.
While in his last year of School, in August 2003, he had to be hospitalized for nearly a month with life support systems aiding his recovery, his platelet count being down to 18,000. "Since I had enough time in hand, I managed to cover the syllabus on time,” Cama was quoted in the Hindustan Times. Besides shining in academics, Cama is good at playing the piano too and has cleared his Grade V examination in music. An ardent sports fan he also enjoys playing golf and football. He plans to pursue a career in physics or biotechnology.
"I am yet to find someone who does so well in both activities and studies,” commented Modern School principal Goldy Malhotra. His mother Dr Shernaz Cama, a lecturer in Lady Sri Ram College, as the mainstay of the Parzor project had been busy last year coordinating the celebrations marking the 3,000th anniversary of Zoroastrian culture.
