Study, sleep, store

Godrej i-space, a modular furniture unit jointly designed by Stanford University, USA and Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited, gives children their own independent space to study, sleep and store, notes a communiqué from Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited. Launched at Crossroads in Bombay in November 2001, the unit is compact enough to fit into a corner of a room in the smallest of modern flats, yet provides work surface, space for a PC and keyboard pull-out tray, shelves, a storage area for clothes and a comfortable bunk bed. With his/her personalized space, the child is encouraged to be organized and innovative.

Godrej’s brightly-hued modular unit for children

I-space’s modular nature ensures that it can be separated and reconfigured to suit changing needs. Made of metal, plastic and fabric, with rounded contours that conform to international standards of safety, the unit is available in three models — the brightly colored ‘Junior,’ the more subtly hued ‘Senior’ and the ‘Twin Bed System’ for families with two children. Godrej i-space is the latest addition to the Godrej Home Furniture range, note company sources.
