Godrej’s 10 x 10
The Mint issue of August 14, 2014 mentions the Godrej group has an annual turnover of Rs 25,000 crores ($ 4.1 billion) and operates "in real estate, computer hardware, medical diagnostics, business process outsourcing and processed foods businesses, among others… The group has more than 22,000 employees and has business operations in over 60 countries. In 2010, Godrej unveiled its 3x3 strategy to focus on three categories: personal wash, hair care and insecticides in three continents — Asia, Africa and South America. It outlined an ambitious 10x10 growth plan in 2011, aiming to grow 10 times in as many years.”
Under the heading "Godrej group trivia,” the financial daily notes:
In 1909, Ardeshir Godrej invented the spring-less lock, and patented it under the seal of King Edward VII.
In 1944, after an explosion at the Bombay dockyards, which killed many, only Godrej safes were left intact.
In 1951 Godrej was asked to make ballot boxes for the first election in independent India.
In 1955, Godrej and Boyce manufactured the first Indian typewriter.

Some eateries along Indian highways use Godrej washing machines to churn lassi (a sweet drink made of yoghurt), the group’s website says.
