“Celebrations to commence?”

I was pleased to read what you have written about me in "Celebrations to commence?” (Parsiana, November 7-20, 2021). I do not wish to comment on the others as most of them have made diplomatic statements in order to survive. Customers have a tendency to rush to someone who is selling the most in the mistaken belief that their product should be better because it is moving fast!
However, I must admit to some disappointment at your omitting the words: "I just love taking photographs,” a very important slogan for my hobby of photography. Also, there is no mention of "internal rate of return.” I have found that photographers are competing with one another by buying more and more equipment without appreciating the basic principle of survival. They do not seem to consider whether they will be able to recover what has been spent on equipment, office rent, wages to staff, or even make any net profit despite working hard.
Giant companies and corporations fall sick, so what hope is there for individuals who are living hand to mouth, using their own capital?
Those who venture into a business should have a projection of income and expenditure and understand where they would stand. The common man does not have money to spend after paying indirect taxes. And although my professional rates are lower than those of others, I feel guilty about my own quotations. But, what is to be done when the equipment costs alone run into several lakhs of rupees?
