“Nothing will come...”
In your editorial "Nothing will come of them” (Parsiana, September 7, 2016) you write "Amid the turmoil in the Middle East, references to Zoroastrianism keep cropping up. The most prominent were by the dictatorial president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip
Erdogan (pictured)… (who) referred to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (Partiya Karkearên Kurdistan or PKK) as ‘atheists… they are Zoroastrians. Nothing will come of them. They have not and are not acting with our values.’”
On asking Parsis whether they have read the allegations made by Erdogan, the anticipated answer is "Who is Erdogan?”
What is distressing is Parsi unawareness of the bare essentials which relate to our community in terms of history and politics.
