A sudden goodbye
One did wonder when Ratan Tata chose over family, another;/ Well, the camaraderie lasted the shortest time than any other,/ Cyrus the Great (pun intended) was shown the gate/ By the very man, Ratan, who wrote his fate.
The truth of the matter isn’t visible and no answers to why;/ All we are told is, it was fast and furious, a sudden goodbye./ This is the latest on the ugly happenings on the Parsi front,/ It seems we still haven’t any lesson on life learnt.
Sad that for all the wrong reasons again we are in the news,/ With Parsis having their own take on the matter and own views;/ Rightly or wrongly, the time for this to have happened is wrong,/ Conjuring up gossip, rumors and half-truths for a song.
Hard times for us what with the goings on in the BPP (Bombay Parsi Punchayet),/ Wonder where all this is going to lead to for you and me?/ A company like Tata whose name with respect and awe we saw/ Will now be mixed up in court cases and matters of law.
One wonders at the repercussions of these warring two;/ What will be the consequences on our economy too?/ How will this end, when both players are brilliant and strong/ Global businessmen, ethical, who play fair and do no wrong?
One would like to see a Parsi heading the Tata empire, for sure/ As Parsis and Tata are synonymous this continuity will ensure./ The rest in the Almighty’s hand we leave, I say,/ May Ratan and Cyrus part, please amicably, is what we pray.
