Medical care for the community’s weaker sections is provided by the Indigent Patient Fund (Rs 1.7 crores) and Poor Patient Subsidy Fund (Rs 4.36 crores). Donations increased in 2014-15 amounting to Rs 3.23 crores as compared to Rs 2.59 crores during the year prior.
The free and subsidized medical care provided (Rs 1.96 crores) to community members by the Hospital included diagnostics, operation theater, physiotherapy and blood bank services as well as specialized investigation facilities at other hospitals for which PGH picks up the tab. The number of deaths at the Hospital went up to 251from the previous year’s tally of 229, while births declined to 18 from 27, reflecting the community’s demographic curve.

The upper and nursing staff of The Bomanjee Dinshaw Petit Parsee General Hospital (PGH) will receive an increment ranging from Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,500 per month as per an amicable settlement arrived at between the Mumbai Mazdoor Sabha (MMS) and the PGH, mentions an email received by Parsiana from the MMS. The three-year wage settlement governing workmen, upper and nursing staff of the Hospital, signed on March 10, 2016, will be effective from January 1, 2015.
Negotiations were held between honorary secretaries of PGH, Hector Mehta and Zarir Bhathena (the latter is also a Bombay Parsi Punchayet trustee) and MMS president Chandbibi Zaidi and general secretary Dhunji Naterwalla. No agitation was resorted to, states the email.
