Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was rated as the world’s most powerful brand in IT (information technology) services by Brand Finance, the world’s leading brand valuation firm, according to a statement on the company’s website dated February 3, 2016. Brand Finance’s 2016 annual report "evaluates thousands of the world’s top brands to determine which are the most powerful and the most valuable,” notes the communication.
Scoring high on a wide variety of measures on Brand Finance’s Brand Strength Index, such as familiarity, loyalty, staff satisfaction and corporate reputation, TCS emerged as the IT services industry’s most powerful brand with a score of 78.3 points.
TCS is also the fastest growing brand within its industry over the last six years, according to the announcement. The company’s overall brand value has increased from US $2.34 billion in 2010 (when the first evaluation of the TCS brand was conducted) to US $9.04 billion in 2016, a growth rate of 286%.
Stating that its brand power is undisputable, David Haigh, CEO (chief executive officer), Brand Finance was quoted in the press release that TCS’s customer focus has been central to its recent success, "but a closer look at our data shows strong and improving scores for brand investment and staff satisfaction too.”

In its assessment of 1,072 companies worldwide, the Top Employers Institute rated TCS as an exceptional performer across nine core human resource (HR) areas: talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning and development, performance management, leadership development, succession management, compensation and benefits and company culture.
The company has received this rating across all its largest markets, according to the press release. Stating that the company prides itself on commitment to people, Ajoy Mukherjee, executive vice president and global head, human resources was quoted in the communication that "having a fully committed, engaged and culturally diverse workforce is more critical to business success than ever before.”
