10 years of humbandagi

The Humbandagi Group of Hyderabad’s Bai Maneckbai N. Chenoy Agiary celebrated its 10th anniversary on February 14, 2016. The Group has been holding humbandagi at the Agiary every Monday at 7 p.m. since February 2006. The prayer is conducted by the panthaky, Ervad Mehernosh Bharucha, followed by a short religious talk by him or other members of the Group, mentions a write-up received by Parsiana from its treasurer, Rusi K. Doctor.

Kerfegar Antia, chairman and managing director of the People’s Co-Operative Society Limited, garlanded the panthaky while Antia’s wife Farida spoke on the benefits of participating in a humbandagi. Dr Keki Pheroze presented a memento to the priest. Mementoes were also presented to Doctor, and Vispy Saher, the helper who has been making arrangements for the humbandagi week after week for the past decade. An attractive banner of the People’s Co-Operative Society Limited was on display, congratulating members of the Group on reaching this milestone.
The gathering then moved into the recreation hall where each member lit a divo before the photographs of Zoroaster and Dastur Jamshed Kookadaru, followed by singing of monajats. A celebratory dinner followed, the write-up mentions.
