Kudos for compliance
The Tata group has won the Ethical Business award at Annual Compliance Awards 2015, while Anu Aga, director of Thermax Social Initiative Foundation was conferred this year’s Compliance Crusader by legal firm Legasis, according to a report in the Business Standard (BS) dated October 11, 2015. This is the second consecutive year that the Tata group received the award, mentions the report. The awards were "instituted to recognize and honor compliance and ethics professionals who excelled in exhibiting the culture of compliance across the organizations,” states the report.

Also reporting on the awards, The Economic Times (ET) of October 8, 2015 stated that over 200 nominations for various categories were received for the 2015 edition of the awards. ET states that Legasis celebrated October 10, the day the awards were given out, as ‘10/10 Compliance Day’ and explained that "October 10 symbolizes that every organization needs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and implement a robust compliance program by scoring 10 on 10 on compliances.”
The website of Legasis explains that the name stands for Legal System and Integrated Solutions and that the firm was incorporated by professional lawyers in 2006. The firm focuses on "fusion of lawyering and information technology,” and caters to 150 clients in 43 countries "with a predominant focus on compliance, ethics and IPR (intellectual property rights).”
