Parsiana’s strengths: So They Say, Events and Personalities, Milestones, In Memoriam, heritage buildings and books by Parsi authors. Shortcomings: Too much of Khojeste Mistree and squabbling in the Bombay Parsi Punchayet!

DR RUMI F. BERAMJI

Parsiana’s strengths: Its independent and incisive editorial policy, realistic and articulate coverage of events around the globe and easy readability. Shortcomings: Your reporting of the internal squabbles in the Bombay Parsi Punchayet conflicts with the overall objective of consolidating the solidarity within the community. Can we not ignore them?

The editors reply:
Regretfully not. What the BPP trustees do and don’t has an impact on the Bombay, Indian and global community, the threatened cancellation of the 10th World Zoroastrian Congress being an example.
Parsiana’s strengths: Honest, fearless, frank, balanced reporting. Shortcomings: None. JALOO HOMI DALAL
Parsiana’s strengths: Good coverage of domestic and international news of Parsis, interesting articles on past history and institutions set up by Parsis, recipe section, interesting articles on well known Parsi celebrities. Shortcomings: There should be a legal section to help with information in respect of laws pertaining to our community. For example, adoption, wills, laws relating to trust properties. Articles pertaining to religious knowledge are a must.
NILOUFER H. ELAVIA

FRENY R. GANDHI

Readers may like to learn something of our Persian history from ancient times to the modern day. Can you consider publishing it — even serialize it? We would appreciate any religious dissertations to be included. If this stirs up some lively discussions/questions, so be it! Let Parsiana dust off the cobwebs of confusion and doubt. The aim is to clear misconceptions by presenting facts.

The editors reply:
Paucity of space is a constraint. There are books on the subject and much material on the web. Our resources are limited, so to cover history authentically and well becomes difficult.
Parsiana’s strengths: Great source of information regarding our community. Very interesting articles on unusual topics and dynamic achievers. Non-Zoroastrians love the magazine too! Keep up the good work! Shortcomings: Practically no shortcomings. Please do include some recipes. And short explanatory articles on our customs. KHURSHEED TULI

Parsiana’s strengths: Well laid out magazine with very interesting write-ups and illustrations. Acquaints us with the views of community members. Shortcomings: None. PURVEZ KEKI TAVARIA
